Cynthia Banks, BS

Cynthia Banks is a seasoned leader and strategic partner in the non-profit world where she focuses her business acumen on systemic efficiencies to create lean, high-quality organizations better poised to serve their communities.

She has served in important roles as the Director of Los Angeles County Workforce Development Aging and Community Services, overseeing a multitude of safety-net programs, Interim CEO & Chief of Staff of the American Society on Aging, and President and CEO of CDB Consulting, a solutions-based consulting firm. Her work with ASA addressed the important issues of ageism, diversity and equity and economic security for Older Adults.

Certified in Myers-Briggs, and having served as Human Resources Director for Los Angeles County’s Superior Court with over 5,500 employees, Cynthia has demonstrated skill in personnel management, organizational assessment, restructuring, and operational improvement.

Currently, Cynthia is a Board member of the Archstone Foundation, and Chair of its Finance and Investment Committee. Archstone has a mission of preparing society to meet the needs of an aging population. Among her past affiliations are Board member for House of Ruth, Mt. Baldy United Way, American Society on Aging and Sunrise Senior Housing. A native of California, she is a graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills and currently resides with her husband in North Carolina.
